Who we are
Malabar Fresh is a small, family-run grocery order-request storefront serving Chatham-Kent, Ontario. This page explains, in plain language, how we handle the personal information you share with us. It is not a legal document and does not guarantee compliance with any particular law or regulation — it simply describes our practices.
What we collect
- Your name
- Phone number
- Email address, if you choose to give one
- Delivery or pickup address
- Your order history and the notes you add to an order request
We only ask for what we need to confirm and fulfil your order request.
Why we collect it
We use this information to contact you about your order request, confirm item availability and substitutions, arrange delivery or pickup, and keep a record of past orders so we can help you faster next time. Our team will contact you with delivery instructions after your order is placed.
How it is stored and shared
Your information is kept only to run the store and is never sold. We do not share it with third parties except the delivery or payment steps needed to complete your own order (for example, confirming an Interac e-Transfer payment).
Cookies, local storage and shop analytics
We use your browser's local storage to remember your cart, recent searches and sign-in session so the site works smoothly between visits.
If you choose “Allow counting”, we also keep first-party anonymous shop analytics in our own database. This can include submitted grocery search phrases, search-result clicks, product-list impressions, product views, availability requests, and cart additions, removals or quantity changes. These events use a random browser-session ID; we do not attach your name, email, phone number, delivery address or account ID to that analytics record. Search text that looks like an email address or phone number is discarded instead of being stored.
Staff activity is excluded. You can decline this counting or turn it off later; doing so does not stop the cart, checkout or other essential store functions from working.
Access or deletion requests
You can ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Contact us by phone at 519-784-7601, by WhatsApp, or by email at hello@malabarfresh.ca, and we will action your request as soon as we can.
